																			Sweet-n-sour Daal  II |  
															| Ingredients: 
																			Serves 4-5 
																	
																		 200gms  Bengal Gram (channa 
																				Daal)
																		
																		1 Onion, chopped
																		2 chopped tomatoes
																		
																		4-5 green chilies, chopped
																		
																		1 tbsp. of Ginger paste
																		
																		4-5 Bay leaves (Tej patta)
																		
																		3 Cardamoms, powdered
																		2 sticks of Cinnamon, powdered
																		2 Cloves, powdered
																		1/2 cup Raisins (Kishmish)
																		1/4 cup Fresh Coconut, chopped
																		1 tsp. Turmeric powder
																		
																		Salt to taste
																		
																		1 tsp. Cumin powder
																		Sugar to taste
																		2 tbsp. Mustard Oil OR  
																				Vegetable oil
																		
																		2 tbsp. Butter 
																	Preparation:
																 
																	
																		 
																			Clean and wash daal. In a deep saucepan, boil the daal with salt 
																				and turmeric in water and then simmer until the daal is cooked. Mash the cooked 
																				daal.  Keep aside.
																		
																		Heat the Oil and half of the butter in a  pan. Fry chopped coconut pieces. 
																		Remove and keep aside.
																		
																		Fry Onions till golden brown/
																		
																		Make a paste of ginger, cumin and turmeric. Add this to the onions and fry for 
																		few seconds.
																		
																		Add daal, coconut pieces, green chillies, sugar, raisins and bay leaves.
																		
																		Add remaining butter abd let it simmer for few minutes.
																		
																			Add ground cloves, cinnamon and cardamoms just before taking off the flame.   |  |  |  |
