II     Mixed Vegetable Pulao II

Pressure Cooking Time : 3 Minutes

Ingredients: ( Serves : 8)

  • 3 cups Basmati rice, washed and drained
  • 3 medium Carrots, peeled and cut into 2 cm. long strips
  • 100 gms. Green Beans, cut diagonally into 2 cm. long strips
  • 1 cup Green peas (Matar), shelled or frozen
  • 1 tsp. cumin seeds
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 2 sticks (2 inch long) Cinnamon
  • 3 Brown cardamoms
  • 5 Cloves
  • 4 tsp. Salt or to taste
  • 3 1/2 cups Water
  • 5 tbsp. Vegetable oil

Preparation :

  • Heat oil in a cooker. Add cumin seeds, bay leaves, cardamoms, cinnamon and cloves. Fry till cumin starts to splutter. Add carrots, beans and peas. Stir fry for 2 minutes. Add rice and fry for a minute or two. Add salt and water. Mix well.
  • Close cooker. Bring to full pressure on high heat. Reduce heat and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Remove cooker from heat. Allow to cool naturally. Open cooker. Serve hot.
