Matar Mushroom Pulao

Ingredients:

21/2 cups Long Grain (Basmati) Rice
-
3/4th cup Petite Green Peas (chotti matar)
-
2/3 rd cup Button Mushrooms
-
1 Medium Tomato
-
3 cups Water
-
1 tbsp. Oil
-
1/2 tbsp. Cumin seeds
-
1 Black Cardamom
-
1 inch piece of Cinnamon
-
5 cups water
Preparation:
-
Clean, wash, soak (for
30 minutes) and drain
the rice.
-
In a
medium
sized
heavy
pan
heat
the
oil
and
add
cumin
seeds,
cardamom
and
cinnamon
stick.
-
Add
tomatoes,
mushrooms
and
salt.
stir
fry
for
2-3
minutes.
-
Add
the
drained
rice
and
green
peas.
Mix
gently.
-
Add
the
water
and
bring
to
boil.
Lower
the
heat,
cover
and
cook
until
rice
is
fully
cooked
and
water
is
fully
absorbed.
-
Serve
hot.
